A 79-year-old woman was killed and another person injured in a house fire that erupted Thursday afternoon at 129 Manna Court, according to Garland County Sheriff Mike McCormick. At approximately 2:50 p.m., Garland County Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to the Manna Court residence, located off the 1400 block of Millcreek Road, regarding a residential fire "with a person trapped inside the residence," McCormick said.Upon arrival, deputies and Morning Star Fire Department found the residence "fully engulfed in fire." The female victim was found deceased inside the residence and an additional victim was injured and transported to a local hospital by Pafford EMS. Sheriff's investigators arrived on scene and the incident is currently under investigation, McCormick said.In addition to the Morning Star Fire Department, the Fountain Lake Fire Department, Lonsdale Fire Department, Hot Springs Fire Department, and Lake Hamilton Fire Department arrived on scene to assist.
McCormick said he "recognizes and applauds the collaborative response demonstrated by all departments involved," noting, "We extend our sympathy to those affected by this unfortunate incident."

In a Facebook post by Morning Star Fire Department, they noted Rescue 6, Engine 8 and Tanker 3 had all responded to the fire along with automatic aid from the Lake Hamilton Fire Department. They also thanked the HSFD, FLFD, Lonsdale Fire and the sheriff's office for their assistance at the scene.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with the family," the MSFD said in their post.

Steve - I am on a laptop and I have no way to operate the way I did 2 days ago , please someone post it to where I can reply daily as I was the one that was trying to get my mother-in-law out of the house ( injured ) smoke inhalation .. It almost took me !!!

We are all Ok except for My wives mother and 3 fur babies , 1 made it out as I kicked in the door to go in and was over taken by the pure black smoke of evil of fire.

I heard my MIL respond and that was it . I am sorry to post this like this , this is real life , and I lost everything that matters to me yesterday.

The very short of it is Steve's house has burned down and he lost everything as well as his mother in law, 3 pets and he got hurt running into the burning house. By busting through the door he must have made it possible for one of his pets to escape the fire.

Now I am grateful for all Steve has done to get LastOS running again but I will not ask anything of him while he is recovering, we will all do what we can to keep it running smoothly and respect what Steve is going through, I can only imagine how hard this is and will be. So of cause we will be here for you mate. No pressure at all. I have edited your post with the information you've shared as it is a sad ending but you did everything in your power, the world still needs you, so be gentle on yourself.

As for the SSL error we had for a day or so, that was caused by the Certificate expiring, he has got it going again. So it should be ok again.

I am on my wifes laptop still, but I got our home internet to help with connecting to the web which works great at least .

I found that 2 pets ran out the door when I first went in , I never seen them .

In total heart beats lost were 7 . Carol Taylor 79 YOA , 3 opossums , 2 cats ( Spot and Big Boi )and 1 small dog ( Arnold ).

Fire personal found Arnold roaming the yard , as they took pictuers on Friday morning as they did not leave the property until like 10 PM on Jan 29th .

Time stamp of the 911 call was at 2:48PM in my celly , the fire had been burning on the back side of the house and my cameras did not pick it up as it was just not part of the video I seen everyday .

I have the security video I will retrieve off the hard drive and convert to it to a playable format and will post it in a day or so as it will show how quick our families lives changed .

I know people that reads all this will say/ask themselves why ? Healing mentally ! I talked about it with my wife and my step kids and they all do not 'trully' understand how a tragidy like this or any other tragidy that happens effects you mentally . I have been through hell with my broken face , broke neck and damaged left hip sciatic nerve and almost a ruptured L4 disk , let me say this out loud and strong that is nothing , I will take that any day over loosing life of family and the pets ANYDAY and then the mental anguish that I will have forever .

I played the video to my wife and her friend yesterday and they both lost it when they seen what I had to deal with all alone and on a nice day like any other .

I have been a part of this whole forum/s from the first day I found appzpoint , so there is people here from that time still , and I am confortable to talk about this with everyone as this internet connection made me welcomed and I will never forget it , EVER .

i read a year ago how modern houses only take 7 minutes to go from a tiny flame to collapse due to products being petroleum based. we used to use solid/hard timbers and wool instead, this gave 30 to 40 minutes for the same collapse in older homes.

My point being that the heat and speed of modern house fires is not like the ones you may have seen on tv or when you were a kid.

now the unexpected loss is something I can relate to, I won't share about it publicly but it changes you, more so if you overthink all the time. it takes a lot of years for it to turn from a loss to a celebration they lived at all. because once you understand that the only reason life can hurt you so much is because you care about some things so deeply, regardless of how everything turns out eventually, remembering the good they shared in life along the way. I don't regret the pain i carry from my own losses, it keeps from having the rage my ego used to justify bad choices growing up. The freedom gained from acceptance is the last step before you can have true peace.

* This is all just my experiences and opinions, so not sure how universal they are, as there are no physical ways I can help you steve, I'll do my best to help you mentally. I do care about your suffering.

@Steve after reading your post my heart felt sad and i shed a tear as i feel your pain.
Where i live there is a cconstant threat of bush fires (forrest fires). Only last week the news reported bush fires all over the state and some people lost their homes and barely escaped with the clothes on their back. Not long ago people in another state lost their homes due to floods. It seems the world is changing, when wil it end?

I guess what my question here is? What is it that you need at the moment? Is there something any of us can do to help? I'm over in here Virginia, but maybe things could be shipped to you

Hopefully once Steve has had some time to figure out which way is up again he knows he can reach out to us with anything. It's not a burden, we want to help any way we can.

I have seen that they have developed a 3D printed house made from concrete built in a short time.

I feel better today , finally got sleep and a clearer thought process .

@unitop4 - We are good for anything that is needed , we have long time friends here .

Holy shit man, I'm so sorry to hear.

I lost my parents and almost everything in a house fire in my early 20's. If I could give you a hug right now, I would.

Steve, my sincerest condolences! Please stay safe out there! That's not fair what happened to you, and if you need anything, I'm here in PMs, always!

As of the other day , we lost 7 heart beats in the fire as there were 3 opossums and 2 cats and the 1 little dog Teddie and of course my mother in law .

Today we have a house/tri plex that we are moving to , this hotel thing is driving me crazy with no sleep as the 3 little dogs bark at everything LOL , Aronold that made it out of the house is with us , the other bigger dogs are at the vet my wife works at on call .

Things for us are getting better , I feel better but need better sleep . A local escavating company we know personally are helping with cleanup on Monday Feb 9th which is a big help as all the metal left will help pay for the cleanup , and also the 1 auto that burned .

Once I get to where I can function better I will try to get the auto delete older backsups working . Until then enjoy your surroundings and tell them you love them and show it , you never know when they might be gone .

Steve

Sleep does change your whole day. I am lucky to get 4 to 5 hours a night, I am constantly tired, but I make do.

Here is the clean up as of today Feb 13th , I had to go do a statement yesterday at the sheriff office and that was a complete flashback that I did not want to go and do . A new power poll 'gray' is at the front of my wifes grey van in the image , the old 1 is leaning , it is from 1980's, of course you can see the new poll to run electric back to our place which is the side my wife took the image .

All the money in the world can not replace what was there on Jan 29th . I feel bad still as I can not sleep and eat normaly . But seeing this made me feel better mentally as everyone does not want me back up there until all the burn is gone .

Steve

Just know that acceptance of the things you can't change and that were out of your control are not something you allow your brain to try and lie to you. Life isn't made for what if's. Just know that your still needed by your family and friends and there is no reason for you to continue your mental suffering. You physical healing will be much faster if you can eat and sleep better. I am not saying it's all easy or that you wont have the automatic responses hit your for a while. Just that if you allow your logical brain to control the narrative on your thoughts. You can reject anything it "tells" you is the truth, because really, you only have your future left and your family only want you to be able to be yourself again. I am sorry you had to relive your memories of the event to the sheriff. I am not sure how your doing in your own head space, so if none of what I've shared from my journey feels right, that's ok too. I just want you to heal and find your way forward.
