It's rumoured that Firefly is returning as an animated version.
Not a rumour, I seen Nathan confirm it was happening on his facebook, AI says the same:
As of March 2026, an animated Firefly series is in advanced development with the original surviving cast returning to voice their characters. Nathan Fillion (Mal), Gina Torres (Zoë), Alan Tudyk (Wash), Jewel Staite (Kaylee), Morena Baccarin (Inara), Sean Maher (Simon), Summer Glau (River), and Adam Baldwin (Jayne) are set to return.
I doubt I'll watch it, I loved the original series, but animation doesn't do it for me
I've watched a lot of good series and they got cancelled before they completed the main story. I've also watched to the end of series and it was "All just a dream", or they Time travel and none of what happened really happened (new timeline), to me those sorts of endings are a cop out and I stopped watching TV series entirely. I'd rather sit down and watch some youtube channels and actually learn something or understand things at a deeper level. Passive viewing doesn't give me a dopamine hit - that is why short form content is something I actually avoid. Because really all you can fit in a 60 to 3 minute video is your opinion or one side of a argument or one perspective. Then the crappy music and bad dancing, I'm out. The same with watching a gamer play a game - I can't stand the over reactions and yelling they do. I understand why people enjoy such things, but my brain just goes - "nope this is a waste of time, turn it off". My brain just want to know why, how and confirm thoughts.
That said I do watch standup comedy as observational humour etc is very funny to me as I also observe people, mostly because I was never able to figure them out, so I did it to learn how to fit in as a kid, once I was old enough to not have to anymore, I stopped doing that. But the funny side of it is still there. I guess I've always known life was a sick joke, because really, none of us will get out of it alive.
